We have one zone on our alarm control panel that shows a window is open constantly. I have replaced the sensor and tested the wiring for shorts, still have the problem. Looking for another cause for this type of a problem, any information would be greatly appreciated.

open circuit

One possible cause is a missing EOL resistor. If the alarm panel has been programmed for the zone to use an EOL(end of line) resistor, and that resistor is missing, then it will show the zone to still be open. You can check inside the door of the alarm control. Many maufacturers list the resistor value on the diagram normally glued to the back of the door.
If it is not a resistor problem. Try jumping the two terminals that correspond to that zone. Remove any other wiring for this zone, and install a short piece of wire between the terminals. If this corrects the problem, then you still have a problem with the wiring or sensors on that zone. Good luck
