Safewatch 3000: make a zone NON-PERIMETER

I can just call ADT to come and program this thing @ $107/30minutes.

There has to be a published procedure for doing this.

Doing what?

I added a sensor that I haven't used since we removed the cat door 7 years ago or more, and that had sat in a drawer taped together.

I installed this on our garage door but it is programed as a PERIMETER zone.

When I break this zone, the perimeter alarm goes off without any kind of delay which is nice since it is inside my workshop but annoying since I can use my garage door opener in my car....

Can I do this my self?

SW Pro 3000 is a slightly modified Vista 20p: http://site.aesecurity.com/Manuals/v...mmingguide.pdf

To access the menus necessary to change the zone type, you really need a 2-line alpha keypad (6160 or equivalent).

ouch!
that's right the VISTA 20p. mine I think is not the PRO model though.

I guess there is no easy way around gettting someone who knows what they are doing to do this....

The actual programming is very simple. It's just very difficult to do, especially for a novice, without a programming keypad.
