Z1100 that the ready to arm light will not turn .

Hello,
I have a z1100 that will not arm. The light will blink or stays off when I try to arm the system. I have been struggling with this system for a while so I am at the point I have all window and door switches taken off the zones and have all 8 zones jumped with wires. I still can not get the ready to arm command. I check the zone status command and it shows all 8 zones open. Could this be a main board problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Jay

Closing the zone with a simple wire jumper will not close the zones on a Z1100.

You need to use a 2.2K ohm resistor (red, red, red for the first 3 stripes).

Most people forget that there _is_ a command to force theses systems to display the open zones: Look on page 6 in the manual: http://www.interlogix.com/_/assets/l...anual_1996.pdf

Most likely you either have a single opening with a magnet that has fallen off, or the contact has simply failed in the open condition. Normally, a cheap and easy fix.

You may want to consider budgeting for a more modern system, that's a bit more user friendly...

Hi Mr. Ron,
The resistors did the trick. I bought them at radio shack and installed them on each zone. Now the system arms.
Thank you for your guidence.
