DSC 832 RF5501-433 Wireless Door Sensors not recognized

I have 3 locations with DSC 832's. Each has an RF5501-433, and I have tried to enroll both WS4975 & WS4955 Wireless door sensors at each and cannot seem to get the keypads to recognize them. I have been able to enroll Wireless keyfobs with no problem as well as Wireless Motion. I have set the wireless door / window sensors to Zone 18 & 19, enabled the zones to Partition 1, turned on the Wireless Zone (8) for each as well as set the type (03) for each. Any ideas what on Earth I am doing wrong? Everything I have researched says that these sensors are compatible with Keypad w/ built-in receiver. The only think I can think of is the battery, but I have replaced that in both. Thanks for the help.

If you have entered the transmitters' serial number into the receiver programming, turned on the wireless bit is 117 & 118; turned on the zones for the partition in location 204, and set the zone type in location 003, then your transmitters should be working. One quirk of DSC wireless contacts is that you may need to send an open close signal to "initialize" the device.

Also, check your serial numbers. Some of the older PC 5010 models had issues with the format of the serial numbers on the later receiver models.

I have done the 4 things you mentioned. When you said 117 & 118, I assume you mean 118 & 119 since I am using zones 18 & 19. Also, 002 had the zone settings for 18 & 19 as apposed to 003, correct?

When you say initialize, is there something I need to do in the middle of programming? I have exited out and put them together and apart 50 times with no sign of them being detected.

Lastly, when you say there have been issues with some older 5010's with the #s, what do you mean? I have 3 5010 sites I program and have so far tried these on 2 of them without being able to get them to work. How can I determine if the control units I have are affected by that problem? Thanks.

Umm, no. Unless you have a PC 5010 CP-01 model, 001 is zone 1-8; 002 is zone 9-16; and 003 is zone 17-24. They are in groups of 8, not 16.

OK, I turned the Zones on through 003. Now my keypad flashes 18 and 19 open regardless of the state of the sensors. They will not close based on the operation of the sensors. Any other thoughts?

I read about the older models only accepting Wireless sensors with 5 digit ESNs, but my unit accepts 6. So that should not be an issue. Any other thoughts would be appreciated? I am desperate to get this system up and running for someone who is living alone. Thanks.

For the 4955 devices, do you have the little rubber "tamper switch" piece in place?

Have you double checked your batteries? It's really easy to flip those little coin batteries upside down.

Yes, the batteries are the correct direction. I have checked that. As for the rubber tamper switch, that too is in place.

Is there a different wireless door / window sensor that is compatible with the system and receiver keypad? Thanks.

So the two types of sensors I have seem to be the only ones that would work with the 5010 system.

There should be no compatibility issues with either type of sensor I have, the 5010, or the RF5501-433 receiver would there be?
