Question DSC alarm 1555

Lost master code, but I want to change my password. Is it possible to do this without the master code?

Did you lose the MASTER code or the INSTALLER code?

The master code is the master arm/disarm code that is used to set secondary user codes.

The default installer code is 5555.

If you have changed and lost the installer code, short of a lucky guess; all you can do is a hardware default and have to reprogram all of your zone settings, etc.

What happens if the default installer code is incorrect? Do I lose my my code that I have now? And then how hard is it to reprogram the zone settings?

_Everything_ reverts to factory default.

Here's a copy of the installer manual: Let us know what parts you need help translating. The important thing to read are the first couple of pages of the section titled "How to Program".
