DSC Ptk5507

I replaced my ptk5501 with a ptk5507 touchscreen. but my fob and wireless door sensor will not program. when I go into 804 and the zone it beeps and puts me back to the section id.

Be sure that the keypad you removed was not a rfk5501 as the rf receiver would be built into it. If so, you can add it back to the system even just somewhere close to the main panel if necessary to serve its purpose as a receiver

You are correct it was a rfk5501. but not sure how I would add it back as a receiver. would I some how connect it to the 5507 or to the board itself.

If you wanted to piggyback the wires to the back of the 5507 you can but I would suggest wiring it to the main panel. Both wired to same terminals and you can keep it close to the panel box. Range to rf devices is 200 - 250ft.

I wired it to the panel. now when I return power the 5501 says program then goes blank trouble light on but key pad unresponsive. 5507 still works fine

Either try power cycle panel with both connected or if you can enter programming from 5507 then enter 902 for module reset. That should clear troubles...
