Securing Pedestrian Gate
Hi,
I am absolutely new to this forum so if this isn't the right place to post this, I apologize. I am looking to secure a small pedestrian walk gate in my house. After looking up a bunch of solutions, I ordered the GTO Bull Dog Pedestrian Gate Lock. The good thing about it is that it has a keypad and even works with a key. The bad thing however is that the push button that it comes with is wired. I want to make this wireless. Does anyone have any ideas around how can this be achieved or can suggest a better solution?
Here's the lock's manual if that interests anyone: http://www.mightymule.com/wp-content...-gate-lock.pdf

Welcome to the forums.
You would usually expect to find the keypad at the gate. Why would you need it wireless ?

The keypad would be at the gate. The push button however needs to be inside the house so that I can open the gate for someone from the inside. I don't want the give out a gate code to everyone coming over. It is this push button that I want to make wireless.

That you could do. Do a search for basic wireless remote. They are available from many places. The one illustrated is listed on eBay.
Here's the problem.... your lock system is waterproof. This remote module is not. It also needs 12v to run. You could probably find one to run on 6v like the lock but there is still the waterproofing issue. Also.... the lock system would now need to be powered by an adapter as the wireless receiver would kill the lock batteries quickly.
Have you considered just running the pushbutton switch line into the house ?
