Disarm NX-6

Hi Ron,

I moved into a house that preinstalled the NexWorkx NX-6. I look up the old posts in this forum and accidentally arm it by entering *8 9817 exit. How could I disarm it now?

Thank you!

Short of a lucky guess at the user code, the only way to get the disarm code out of one of these needs the DL900 software and a NX-486 or NX-488 direct connect module.

Thanks, Ron. I probably need to get a new security system.

A replacement board will cost about 40-50 dollars, and the setup isn't difficult, especially if you are just trying to use it local.

Hi Ron, you mean replace the whole control panel or a part (board) of it? I will just use the alarm to deter intruders. Where can I find detailed info on how to replace the board? Could you provide more details?

Thank you very much!

You can replace just the control board in you existing alarm enclosure, and configure it to match your existing zone layout.

Mechanically, you would just power the thing down and swap wire for wire. Then you will be starting over with a system set at the factory default configuration, which you would have to change to match your zone layout.

Only a handful of settings actually _need_ to be changed.
