Vista 20P + Tuxedo -- adding a Honeywell 6160RF
Hi,
I have a Vista 20P using the tuxedo as my only panel. Been working fine for about a year.
I wanted to add wireless to my Vista 20P so I just purchased a Honeywell 6160RF panel that I'm going to put upstairs (already wired).
I know how to wire it up, but after that I'm a little confused looking at the manual. I want my Tuxedo to still be the primary and in fact all I am using the Honeywell 6160RF for is wireless.
How do I go about setting up the 6160RF as to not interfere with the Tuxedo?

Hi Mr Ron.
Thanks for answering.
So, Just so I'm clear:
1) Connect the keypad
2) Set to programming mode on new keypad
3) Set the key pad address to 16 - I guess that is in the manual.
4) Get out of programming mode
I have an Ademco 5818MNL Recessed Door Transmitter that I will be using on my front door. Once I get the above keypad working - how do I connect the door transmitter?
Thanks again.

You would be using the _keypad_ setup programming first:
http://site.geoarm.com/pdfs/Honeywel...tall-guide.pdf
Once you have the keypad and it's wireless addressed, then you would use *56 mode in the regular system programming to add the wireless zone and enroll the transmitter.
I am assuming that you have the installation and programming manual for the Vista 20p, already.

yeah
Yep I will use the programming guide.
Does this seem like a good plan?
1) attach the last power wire to power on the new key pad, within 60 seconds I will push 1&3 together and then assign it to 16 then I hit *99 to exit.
2) Enter in programming mode and setup a new zone 9 to use the new keypad and wireless. Enter in the serial/code number on the side of my wireless door sensor. I make sure to enable the wireless.
My understanding is that once I do the two steps above I will be able to use my 5818 door sensor. The Vista 20P will see the new keypad and use the wireless door sensor?

Yes, the system will see both a 6160 keypad, and a 5881H wireless receiver. If you have a Vista 20p, and aren't using zone doubling or a hardwired expander, then zone 9 is your next available zone.

Thanks for all your help Mr Ron
I saw somewhere that the Tuxedo uses zone 9 for 'fire button'.
Does that mean I should use zone 10 for my 5180? Or should does it matter that the Tux is using zone 9?

I think you mis-read about the zone 9 fire button.
The Tuxedo supports the panel panic zones which are 95, 96 and 99. Usually zone 95 is assigned as fire panic, zone 96 is assigned as medical panic and zone 99 is the police panic.
Zone 99 is usually on by default on a 20P so you'd need to enable the panics for zone 95 and 96 in *56 zone programming if you want those active and available from the Tuxedo keypad.
