Vista 21ip w/ 4219 expander – Check 9 error?

Hi Folks – working thru my new Vista 21ip system install…

Problem:
• Trying to install / program 4219 zone expander
• 1st zone expander install, using Zone 9, Dip Switches 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 are ON
• I’m wasn’t planning on using EOLR but getting a Check 9 error message
• When I install an EOLR the system is working fine (no error)
• FYI – also move the sensor wire to Zone 3 – reprogram the zones, no ELOR – and the system works fine as well.

Any idea on why I am getting a Check 9 error message?

I thought the Dip Switch #7 On was suppose eliminate the need for the EOLR.

Thanks for any help!

Well, evidently there are differing instructions for 4219 modules -- a module I installed about a week ago showed DS7 'on' for no EOLR but, instructions that I just found online shows DS7 not used. So I would go by the instructions that came with it.

* not sure what you are saying about the zone 3 rewiring

Thanks - the instructions that came with my 4219 say DS7 "not used leave on". I guess EOLR for me.

WRT to Zone 3 - I was trying to say I moved the specific sensor wire from Zone 9/Zone expander to Zone 3 on the main control panel. I was trying to take the 4219 module "out of the equation" to see if I still get an error message. Sorry for the confusion.
