Vista 20p motion - alarm in stay/night, no alarm in away

Kind of strange request...I have a motion detector in a breezeway. Just to test, I have set to zone type 23 (no alarm resp) and set to sound a buzzer connected to a relay and also send me an email when tripped. But I am looking for it to do nothing while armed away, and either just sound the buzzer (connected to relay) or sound the buzzer and send a burgalary signal to the CS or sound the alarm like any other perimeter sensor when armed stay or night.

Are any of these configurations possible?

Put it in a separate partition from the rest of the system, then you can only arm that part at night.

I put that zone in partition 2 and it works as expected except, I'm monitored by ADT and their CS does not get a signal when that zone is tripped nor does it show up in the portal anymore. The keypad and siren sounds when it's tripped.

What report code do you have programmed for that zone? Did you copy the account number to the partition 2 account number? (*45)

Trying to figure out an RJ-31X phone jack

I am trying to wire in a RJ-31X. It may not be able to work this way, but here is how I attempted to wire it up as a test. - Wired one side of a 4-pin modular plug to a house phone, the other end was wired to the RJ-31X (Red and Green to the RJ-31X 1 and 8, respectively). - Wired one side of a 4-pin modular plug directly to the wall outlet, the other end was wired to the RJ-31X (Red and Green to the RJ-31X 4 and 5, respectively). * Tested the house phone that was connected to the 1 and 8 on the RJ-31X and dial tone was present. * Plugged a secondary 4-pin modular plug into the modular plug on the RJ-31X and dial tone to the house phone disappeared. Tried several things, but could not get the dial tone to stay on the house side. Does this unit not operate like this? Does it need to be connected directly to the Demarcation point? I’m am just testing the unit, but it seems like it should work. I appreciate any help, just trying to learn.

DSC Power 832 (PC 5015) blown rectifier

One night my PC 5015 woke me up by beeping about battery trouble :wall:. Fortunately I had a spare battery, which was not fully charged, but I swapped it in. Soon after that smoke started coming from DSC cabinet :madhell:. I immediately cut power off and examined damages. There was a blown rectifier W10M. I expect that the charge current was too high and as a result rectifier could not take all load without overheating. The new battery had something like 7 volts when I connected it and according to [URL="http://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/power832-siren-current.141843/#post-940156"]this post[/URL] it may be a problem. At that time I was too busy to fix the board and I spent one day in swapping a brand new PC1864 and then forgot this :). Now I could use this old board in one of my projects. The question is what are the odds for getting my PC 5015 fixed by just renewing the rectifier? Is there some kind of charging logic? I don't know if the rectifier was shorted so that 16 V AC was coming to board... etc... lots of ifs :) [ATTACH]61452[/ATTACH]
