Quiet Vista 20p 5828 Keypad
I've successfully upgraded to a Vista 20p. So far, everything is working well. Yay!
One of the places we wanted to add a keypad was in a bedroom. They wanted to be able to open the door and let the dog out with as little fuss as possible. Makes sense to me.
The problem is that one of them is a light sleeper, and the keypad beeps wake them up.
Disarming the alarm beeps. Arming the alarm beeps. Opening the door chimes. The keypad buttons feep when you press them.
I know I can make the door not chime by programming a zone group for that. A bit of a hassle, but doable.
If I set the keypad to suppress all sounds when defining it (partition 1, sound supression 3) will the keys still feep?
Second complication: This is currently a 5828, and doesn't have an ID or suppression value. Getting a wire to this spot would be tricky.
If I open the 5828 up, is there an easy way to pull the speaker? Does it need a resistor or can I just yank the thing?
