PC1555MX50/300 with LCD5501Z shows Trouble "1"

I have a hardwired system that was installed by ADT in 1998 when the home was built. We purchased the home in 2004. As ADT would not relinquish the codes without a new service agreement of over $300 and the previous owner had forgotten the codes, we replaced the PC1555MX50/300 board with a new board such that we are not monitored but all sirens and entries are armed.

The system recently provided a YELLOW indicator. The battery is good and all sensors indicate GREEN when the doors are closed thus allowing for alarming of the system. When performing the *2 function, I get a trouble indicator of "1" (Service required. Call your installation company for service).

Is the main board dead requiring replacement or what? Any insight to rectifying this would be appreciated.

Not looking to opt in for a monitored service.

When you press *2 and it displayed a 1, did you press 1 again? The odds are that it's the battery (when you tested the battery, did you test it under load (ac power off)?

The trouble chart on page 9 of the manual will help.

MrRonFL,

I pressed *2 and it displayed a 1, but did not press 1 again. I disconnected the system from power and disconnected the battery from the system testing it with a voltmeter. So, it was not under load. I will go ahead and get a battery and see if that solves the issue.

I also need to read up on how to disable the Telephone Line Monitor feature. We have digital voice through Comcast which does not seem to play nice.

Thanks!

Many of those derived phone lines aren't super stable. To defeat TLM turn off option 7 in programming location 015.

If your battery is more than 3-5 years old; it's on borrowed time, at best.
