Error code E8
Hi,
I'm trying to add a wireless motion sensor 5898. When I tried to add it I got an error code E8. I think it means my receiver is maxed out and no more zones are available. I count 16 zones used including a 5804BD fob and two 5827BD wireless keypads. Zone 9 is programmed with a zone type 05 and I'm not sure what it's for. Can I reprogram this zone for the motion sensor? My manual says a type 05 zone is used for a trouble sensor and I have no idea what it is used for. Or maybe just reprogram and use one of the zones I can live without on the 5804BD fob (we rarely use it anyway).

I'm pretty sure it's a vista 20se and a 5881ENM. If you have access to my previous posts, I have pictures of it posted, I haven't been sure of exactly what the model numbers are.

Another thing to note is zones 10-18 are wireless sensors, zones 19, 20 and 22 are for the 5804BD fob and then zones 37-39 are for the 5827BD wireless keypads. I'm not sure why zone 21 and 23-36 were skipped.

Ok, backtracking your posts from November 2016:
For future reference: You have a Safewatch Pro 2000; which is the ADT modified version of a Vista 20se, your wireless receiver is a 5881m; which on a Vista 20se (or clone) allows a total of 16 wireless zones plus the 8 hardwired zones. Your maximum zone count with this configuration is 24 zones. Every keyfob uses 4 zones (even if you don't program a configuration for the 4th button), and you are allowed to skip zone numbers.
By your list, this system is maxed out with the current wireless receiver.

Thanks for the conformation on the model numbers and info. So in order to program in the motion detector I need to remove the 5804BD fob or the two 5827BD wireless keypads? Oh, and what about zone 9, can I reprogram that for the motion sensor or does it have something to do with the wireless receiver?

Zone 9 is not a "real zone" on a Vista 20se (clone). It's purely for the supervision of the wireless receiver.
Removing any device to free up zones would allow you to add more. Alternatively; you could upgrade to the 5188H receiver which would give you the full 24 wireless zones the system will support.
