Zone doubling

Hi,MrRonFl,
Can you please help me out, were to start enter (hardwire type 3) for zone doubling, should it be on zone 2 or to enter it on the next doubled zone 10 for example. This is for vista 20P. I will start with zone 2 en zone 10.and so on.
The vista 20P zones are wired.

What will happen with the previous programming from 1 to 8 ?
Thanks a lot.

HARDWARE TYPE should be 3 for every "hardware" zone (2-8) you need to double. The "virtual" zones are added automatically when you do that - you won't have the hardware type option for the virtual zones.

You have to make sure that your 3K resistors (orange/black/red) are in SERIES with the "hardware" zones (2-8) and the 6.2K resistors (blue/red/red) are in SERIES with the "virtual" zones (10-16)

The ZONE TYPE programming should remain in place for the original hardware zones, you will have to add the appropriate type for the new virtual zones as they will default to 00 (Null). You can NOT use doubling on fire zones.

Just to avoid confusion about the terminology, what taz420 calls "hardware" is actually hardWIRE (as opposed to wireless, or an Expander zone).
