improving an old alarm: Adding wireless

Hi there. My DSC setup looked like this:
PC5010 panel rev 06MA
1 PC5108 extender
2 PC5516 keypads,
1 PC5204 power output
In an attempt to add a few more zones, I purchased a RFK5500 and installed by removing a PC5516 and putting it in its place.

When my WS4904 wireless PIR and WS4939 arrived I tried to configure them. The fob seems to work well. Arms and disarms..
the PIR however is giving me headaches:
I tried setting it as Zone 17. It accepts all settings (I configured the zone as Delay 03, set the Wireless bit 8 as well) . The "test device" (was it code 904?), keeps saying "activate device" or something similar. No Good or Bad. I re-re entered its ESN several times. I'm sure it's correct.

I tried to change the zone number to 25. Made no difference. I believe they both work at 433Mhz so that should not be an issue..

I'm suspecting the older keypad that only supports 16 zones still being in the system. Could that keypad be the cause of my Zone 17 problems?
Or perhaps that the PC5010 is too old for a wireless?

Many thanks, -turgut

UPDATE: I just did a power cycle; and the zone troubles went away
But the PIR is still not seen by the panel.. The 904 still shows "activate device for test"..
Despite the device being right next to it, and I removed/replaced its backplate to put it into test mode.

It's possible that you have a bad transmitter.

I am assuming that you turned on the wireless bit in the system zone attributes, and you have enabled zone 17 in the partition on your system.

yes it must be a bad transmitter..I did enable that bit..
I did lots of things; including moving it a zone that's below 16; thinking maybe the PC5010 does not like > 16 zones. Nothing helped. I'm getting a new PIR..
