How difficult would it be for me to add a wireless glass break sensor?

I have a DSC PC1616 with a existing wifi receiver and one glass break sensor that was installed by a security company. I need to add one more wireless sensor but the security co. is charging $160 to get it installed.

Can this be a DIY project? What level of difficulty is this?

If you know the installer code for your system; it's a fairly simple DIY project (if your system is monitored, you would need to update them with the added device).

But first, you need the installer code to get the programming commands to enroll and configure the new transmitter.

I believe I have the master code. Any way to test the master code without triggering an alarm?

If I'm not mistaken you can substitute the master code for your code when disarming the system.

The DSC installer code can't arm or disarm the system.

If you enter *8 [installer code]; the keypad will beep rapidly and the program indicator will flash (some keypad models will display "Enter Section". If it works, just press # until you exit programming.
