Basement Window protection for wired ADT system

I have an old ADT wired system and I would like to add several small basement windows to my wired system. Other than a magnetic reed switch, does anyone have any other devices (besides motion detection) that they can recommend for protecting small basement windows?

How small - small enough no one could crawl through anyway?

A lot depends on the layout of your basement. If you have several windows that are in the same space (no walls between), and within 35 feet/11 meters of a common point, then a glass break sensor may be your best option. However, a glass break sensor will not stop you from arming if you've left a window open, and someone forcing a window open without breaking the glass probably won't trip the GB sensor. So it depends a lot on how you use the window (do you ever unlatch it, or just leave it latched all the time?) and the construction of the window (can it be forced open without breaking the glass?).

An alternate option is barrier bars:

The window is 31" Wide x 12" High (see pic). It is big enough for someone to crawl through. The barrier bar mentioned looks very promising.Name: basement window.jpg
