Custom Zone Names for NX-148 keypad ....

Hi everyone:

A quick question about custom zone names for the NX-8V2. I have the 148 series keypad, and would like to enter some custom zone names for the zones in the system. I understand the *92 instructions and how to put the custom names in, but do I need to change anything in the zone programming, or is the keypad the only place I need to make the change.

The other question is with regard to the keypad's default display:
System Ready
Type Code to Arm

Can any of this text be changed? I'd like to change the top line to read the building's name as we have three keypads for all of our buildings in a row, and it would be nice to have the building name on the keypad's display itself. Is that possible?

Thanks everyone!
-M

Looks like you are able to make the changes you want. 1-48 are the zones and 49-52 are the banner. You enter the alph programming in the keypad and upon exiting will be displayed on all keypads on that system. Page 3 and 4 cover the programming.

Thanks for the help pjmax. I tried editing zone 49, and when I did and saved the changes, the banner didn't change on the keypad. I should have mentioned that this is an "RF" keypad that I'm doing the programming from. Is that acceptable, or should I use a different keypad in the system to do the programming?

Many thanks!

*92programming is where you program the custom text...
Message 193 is the top line message
Message 194 is the bottom line message

THEN...
You need to go to *93 and turn Option 9 ON (Custom Messages)
By default, whatever message you type in will automatically transfer to the other keypads..
If you want each keypad to have it's own message, you need to go to *93 and turn on Option 11 (Custom Message Lock)

Thanks GEGUY - got it! Missed the enabling of custom messages in *93. Thanks!
