Ademco Vista 20P - single beep.

Hi- Perhaps 4 nights a week our system makes one short beep in the middle of the night. No indication what the cause could be from the keypad. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Is the system monitored at a central station ?
You could check with them for a possible sent fault code.

If you have the system running with the door chime on..... you could have a zone tripping.
Was the alarm set when it beeped once ?

The system is not monitored.

We really only use the system in 'chime' mode. When a zone trips there are 3 dings. This is one short ding.

I'm not the expert on these systems but I think the keypad model number may be helpful.

From what I've read.... a single beep is only heard during programming.

If you hear one short beep and nothing is displayed on the keypad---chances are good that something else is beeping, not the keypad. I've lost count of how many times over the years I've responded to unexplained beeps that turned out to be some other piece of equipment. Those beeps come from a piezo sounder that is commonly used in all sorts of equipment from portable alarm clocks to exercise equipment, and they all sound alike.
