Screwed up my DSC alarm

The house I bought has a DSC system installed but I'm new to the world of alarm systems. The previous owner left me hanging but I managed to stumble along with the manuals to get it working. I learned enough to be dangerous and now various problems have cropped up.

Firstly a problem has occurred that the front and back doors continue to produce an alarm even after the system has been disarmed. I enter the code to disarm then when I open a door it alarms. I have to re-enter the code and do this at each door.

Also I have been having problems with the "garage freeze sensor" triggering the alarm. I donít want to have the garage heated at all times. I would like to know:
-what the freeze sensor might look like. It must be a 3rd party one as DSC apparently doesn't make one
-can it be disabled or adjusted to a lower value

The system consists of
PC1832 Controller
Escort 5580TC telephone i/f
Envisalink 3 internet i/f
PC5950 vox board
PTK5507 keypad
PK5500 keypad
RFK5501-433 keypad

"Global arming" is a feature I noticed on the PTK5507 keypad. Would this be a cause somehow?
As it's bear of a learning curve I'm grateful for any help.

Thanks
Don

It sounds like you have probably gotten your zone types wrong.

What are your zones, and what are the keystrokes you tried to use?

Freeze alert sensors are generally set for 40 degrees, which is considered the start of the danger zone for pipe freeze. Some models are adjustable, but many are fixed. What zone number is this device on? There are many models, so it's hard to tell you what to look for.

"Global arming" is a feature used when the system is configured with multiple partitions. It has no bearing on your list of issues.
