Removing Zone in DSCPower832 PC5010 Version 2.0

Hi there, I know there are some threads on this but many of them are confusing to me and I don't want to screw this up.

I have a motion detector I want to take off the system.

The zone number is 16

How do I remove this zone from the system?

I found this instruction list on another thread but want to make sure its right

*8 [installer code]
001
press any panic key/panic key pair twice
00 #
804
03 (change this to 16?)
enter 000000
Press # until you are out of programming.

Thanks in advance

That's half the process. Those keystrokes (with the change to 16) will delete the transmitter. You also have to go into the main system programming, and change the zone type for zone 16 to 00.

*8 [installer code]
002
press any one of the "panic" keys 13 times to advance to the first digit of the zone type for zone 16
press 00
press # until you exit programming.

Thanks RonFL as always,

I am not sure I did stop 2 in your process right. However the system does not show a zone fault now that I have taken the motion sensor down and it is able to arm when I exit the house.

I do still see the motion sensor in the zone list
*1 [installer code]
Right arrow key 16 times

Is that normal?

Assuming that "*1" is a typo, and you actually typed *8, using the arrow keys is correct if you have the LCD keypad.

Programming location 002 has 8 segments each of which has 2 digits. As long as the last segments in that section has 00, then you are good to go. You can scroll through it the same way as before to verify that you did what you _thought_ you were doing.
