Question about Zone issue
I have a DSC Power832. Many of my windows need replacing. Recently, I screwed a couple windows shut to stop cold air from coming into the house. I must have screwed into an alarm wire or something because now this zone is permanently lit. I tried unscrewing all the screws, one by one, and checked each time, but the zone stayed on at the key pad. Could I have messed it up in another way?
Assuming that cannot be fixed easily, or until I replace windows, I would like to remove this zone. Is this something I can do from the keypad? My keypad does not have a screen.
Thanks.
Gary

You would go to the main panel and either short the zone you want to bypass or install an EOL resistor across the zone terminals based on programming.

Is a special type of EOL resistor needed? Will this do? https://www.amazon.com/Watt-Carbon-F...=eol+resistors

For that panel..... it looks like it needs.... 5600 ohm (5.6K) resistors. You can confirm looking at the diagram on the panel door.
You can use 1/4w or 1/2w. I like using 1/2w because it's a little more robust. Less chance of the leads breaking off the resistor.

Checked the panel. It does say 5600 Ohm for single zone EOL.
I attached a picture of my terminals. You said "short the zone you want to bypass or install an EOL resistor across the zone terminals". There looks like only one zone terminal, so I'm confused on how I could install it across the terminals.
Thanks.

The zones share a com. That means....
zone 1 is Z1 and the COM to its right.
zone 2 is Z2 and the COM to its left.
zone 3 is Z3 and the COM to its right.
zone 4 is Z4 and the COM to its left.
etc.
