DSC832 Trouble 7
MY system seems to be working fine, however the trouble light is on. I did *2 and it shows 7. I looked in the manual and it says pressing 7 would show the zone and that if no zone is displayed that it would be a battery problem with an FOB. When pressing 7 no Zone is displayed and I don't have an FOB at all. I am wondering what I could do next to narrow down this problem and clear this fault? Appreciate any pointers.

Thanks very much for the response. I have an led keypad LCD5500Z . I only have two wireless smoke detectors in zones 15 and 16.They are connected to a 5132 receiver. I replaced the batteries for the detectors but that didn't change the trouble code. So if he LED keypad won't display zones higher than 8, it is possible that either zone 15 or 16 have trouble. If I upgrade the keypad to a full text model would that allow trouble display? To be complete my system uses a PC5010 board.

Yes the current production LCD keypad (PK5500) is backwards compatible with the older power series panels, like yours. You would need to know your installer code to do the upgrade.

Installed the new keypad pk5500 and it does offer more information. It looks like all the keys except for 42 have a low battery indication. Since I don't have any FOB's in my system I continued searching and found the following:
Subject: PC5132-433 V4.20 (MASTER) WIRELESS KEY LOW BATTERY ISSUE
This is to inform you of an issue regarding the PC5132-433 v4.2 wireless receiver. Over time, the PowerSeries control panel will display an incorrect wireless key low battery trouble.
The issue is caused by leaving unused wireless keys programmed with serial number [000000].
Please note that if the issue occurs, panel operation will not be affected in any way.
One of the options listed below should be performed to prevent the issue from occurring. If the panel is already displaying an incorrect wireless key low battery, the only way to remedy
this is to change the control panel as well as performing one of the following:
1. The PC5132-433 wireless receiver v4.20 can be programmed to prevent the issue from occurring. Program serial number [100000] for all unused wireless keys. This can be done locally
via a system keypad or remotely with the DLS2002 software. A special DLS2002 utility is available on the DSC website which will assist with the programming change.
2. Upgrade the PC5132-433 wireless receiver software
Upgrade the PC5132-433 wireless receiver v4.20 (Master) to the new v4.22. The integrated circuit (or chip) is socketed and can be upgraded in the field. The PC5132-433 will not have to be reprogrammed. All wireless programming will remain unchanged.
Please see the instructions included at the end of this document for information regarding obtaining the new software and upgrading the PC5132-433 wireless receiver."
The only thing I don't understand is why 42 is the only one that does not have a low battery indication when is defined the same way and no fob exist.. I am also wondering what would happen if I define a real FOB in any of the locations showing low battery?

When it comes to a firmware error like that, it's rarely anything logical to be attached to it. Someone made a programming error that got cut and paste duplicated in a bunch of identical fields. Probably some dumb math loop.
