Lynx 5210 Timeout Screen

A few days ago, we lost power for about 25 minutes. When the power returned, I noticed the alarm screen stayed black like it was in a permanent backlight screen mode. We can still activate the alarm using our cell phones, but the alarm screen is useless. Pressing the screen, you can still hear the beeps, but no display.

You can try doing a controlled power down. Unplug the backup battery and the main power plug for a few minutes, then restore them in the the same order. If you still don't have a working display, it's possible that you caught enough of a voltage spike when the power failed to damage the display.

For that, given the way these are constructed, you pretty much are starting over with a new unit.

That's what I was thinking. I'll try that today. Hopefully that procedure will work. Thank you.

I like working with the 5210s but the downside to this model, at least in my experience, has been issues with the touch screens. I've had to send several back for repair because the screens had frozen or they stopped reacting when you touched them.

I had a lynx touch 5210 previously and sometimes it likes to randomly reboot for some odd reason

It Worked

Doing a quick power reset has my screen looking like normal. Thank you.
