EDIT: Sorry, it's not the en, just safe watch 3000. Hello everyone, first time poster. Got a lot of info from here in the last couple of days and thanks for that. I will try to make this short. When ADT upgraded me to pulse last april, they convinced me to get the safe watch pro version instead of the one you see online wirth the nice touchscreen display, etc. They also installed a cell network as well as the phone line i had. That day, the tech told me that ADT won't be called until 30 seconds after an alarm sounds. Well, i have had 2 false alarms recently (2 kids under 10 will do that lol) and one was definitely after 30 seconds, both with no call from ADT. I called 2 days ago and the girl on the line said my system is actually set to 1 minute, not 30 seconds. Well, thats not good for me. Way too much can happen in 1 minute if sh!t actually hits the fan. So i asked them to change that for me. "Ok, that will require a service visit at the cost of $120 plus tax" i have the $7/ month service plan though? Well, that only includes upgrades and problem visits, not calls like this. I politely said F ADT and said goodbye to her. I wound up getting a lot of info on here and on other sites and i think i successfully changed my response time to 15 seconds. I'm not too worried about false alarm because the kids learned from their mistakes (I hope) and 2 alarms in 5-8 years isn't really a concern to me. So, my questions are these: 1. Can i change the response time lower than 15 seconds? In the book it says 1=15 sec and nothing lower. 2. my current keypad is the one where in programming mode, it will just show the numbers and not the explanation in words. If i change the keypad to, lets say, the 6160, will ADT know i changed it and will they have a problem with it? I still have 2 years on my contract after upgrading to pulse (but I've been with ADT for over 8 yrs.) 3. Are there any other keypads that i can use? I would love one of the digital touchscreens, but don't know if the safe watch 3000en system can handle that. Thanks guys and gals!!!

I have an Ademco Vista 20 P (rev No. 9.12) panel which I installed in my home about 8 years ago or so. At that time, I just put sensors on all of the doors (all are hard wired except one is wireless) with the idea of adding more later. In addition to the interior siren, I have an exterior one and added the Envisalink Eyezon earlier this year so I can at least monitor it myself from my phone. That was at the suggestion of people from this forum in response to a similar post I made back them. Anyways, I seem to recall holding off on the window sensors because I was going to slowly start replacing my windows and figured I would run a hardwired sensor at that time but so far the only windows I replaced are second story ones which aren't going to get a sensor anyways. So, where should I start? Should I put a wireless sensor on every ground floor window that opens? Should I add a couple of motion sensors? Glass break sensors? Are motion sensors these days pretty good at avoiding false alarms? Another thing I am considering is setting up some cameras outside. We have been pretty lucky but lately I have heard of a couple of break ins in the neighborhood and neighbors spotting suspicious people around. Love to hear your thoughts on where I should begin.
