Programming DSC 832

DSC 832 5132-433 receiver, all wireless sensors. I had to take down my system for a house remodel and now I am setting it back up. I had 8 wireless sensors on windows and doors and now I need to add 2 additional. I got the original 8zones back up OK, all work good. Now I need to add the 2 additional wireless sensors. How to I program these two new sensors into zone 9 and 10? This system can supposedly handle up to 32. I tried reading the manual but it is not clear to me.

To do this, you actually need 3 different manuals. The installer manual, the programming worksheet book, and the manual for the wireless receiver.

Take a look at those, and let us know which specific thing isn't making sense.

After carefully following all the programing instructions zones 1-8 work properly but 9 & 10 give no response on the keyboard screen, when I open the windows of zone 9 or 10 the keyboard does not give OPEN indication like it does for 1-8 zones. To set all the zones for instant on alarm I do this *8 5010 001 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03 03. I also enter the ESNs: *8 5010 804 09 ESN *8 5010 804 10 ESN I am not sure about is the set up of wireless zone. I am doing this for zones 9 and 10: *8 5010 109 8 *8 5010 110 8 What am I missing?

There's a lot of components involved in doing this, so it's easy to miss a couple of steps:

On a standard PC 5010 programming location 001 only has the zone definitions for zones 1-8, so you have to set the zone type for those zones in programming location 002.

Did you turn on the wireless attribute toggle (#8) in programming locations 109 & 110?

Did you assign the two zones to partition 1 in programming location 203?

I apparently missed a step as you said. I did set the wireless attribute in 109 and 110. I did set zone type in 002. I didn't do anything with zones in 203 and I re-read the manual but I can't figure out the programming in 203 to set the zones. I very much appreciate you assistance, I am almost there.

Location 203 is a toggle, like the attribute programming areas. To activate zones 9 & 10, you turn on attributes 1 & 2.

I did the 203 toggle as per your instructions and my alarm system is all up and running. Thank you very much.
