Converting Safewatch Pro 3000 to VistaP.
Hello all,
I currently have a ADT Safewatch 3000 system that was installed in 2005 and is no longer centrally monitored. The system is used as a simple stand alone system and still functions quite well. as a enhancement, I would like to install a EyezOn EnvisaLink EVL-4EZR in order to get text alerts and basic remote access. I do have the installer code for the system. Few questions.
1) Is the eyezon compatible with the Safewatch system?
2) If it isn't, can I replace the prom chip, (current chip is Honeywell 3001 4.3) to convert it to VistaP system which I believe is compatible.
3) If I can replace the prom chip, how much system programming will be required other than setting up the Eyezon.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Just installed mine yesterday.
Yes it works fine with the ADT safewatch pro 3000. The only issue I ran into is that I also have my system out of contract with ADT. Since installing it I’m getting an error on the panel. Check b6 I think it might be the wireless communicator TP-1 not being able to check in with homebase ADT.

That's supposed to be bF, but yes, it means that the wireless communicator isn't working or connecting.
Easy fix: in programming enter *29 0 to turn off the system looking for the radio, then disconnect the radio, itself (as long as it's connected it generates it's own trouble code).

Yes the Prom Chip 10.23 being the latest is compatible with the safewatch 3000. It would just add total connect 2.0 services basically and support for the Newer 6162 Keypads that Honeywell already discontinued for some odd reason. the safewatch 3000 is just a vista 20P SIA i believe. meaning exit warning is hard coded and can't be turned off and the Max mode aka button 4 doesn't function i believe as well.

@Andoy33: Also, the SP 3000 doesn't have the Zone Doubling feature for Zones 2 through 8 like the V-20P does. I don't use it that often, but when I need just one or two more hardwired zones, it saves the added expense of a(nother) 4219 Zone Expander.
Although I don't necessarily recommend Zone Doubling for the DIYer. It can be tricky to troubleshoot if you develop a resistance problem in one of the loops. I just mention this to name the differences between the V-20P and the SP 3000. When I'm perusing eBay for a bargain, I pay close attention to whether a Vista-20P is _really_ a Vista-20P or a Safewatch Pro 3000.
