Ademco keypad replacement

I have 17yo Ademco system. Keypad worn out needing replacement. The system is Vista 20P/15P and the keypad is 6647 which is not on the market no more. It is a 4 wire keypad.
What is the new replacement? Do I need to reprogram to make it work?
Thx, Mike

At that age it's probably not a "P" series alarm control. Most likely what you have is a Vista 20se.

I suspect that the keypad model number you posted is a typo, because it doesn't match any of the Honeywell/Ademco model numbers. You may be looking at the part number for the plastic shell.

In any case, the 6150 keypad would be the current production keypad.

Hello Mr RonFL,

Thanks for your replay. I have taken pictures of the keypad panel and the box. Please see if you can make sense of what I got.
Also, do I need to reprogram the nes keypad?

Thanks Much,
Mike

That's a 6127 keypad. The 6150 is the direct replacement.

It looks like you have the newer "P" series alarm control connected to a much older keypad. The new keypad just needs to be set to address 16.

Hello Ron,

Awsome. I now know what I need. Please tell me how I put the new keypad to address 16 and how do I enter my existing code into the new keypad. I have 3 keypads which I am going to replace only one of them. Would they work? Or I need to replace all of them?

Thank you so much,
Mike

Multiple keypads change the equation. Press 1 + 3 on the one you are replacing. that will display the keypad address. Write that down.

The instructions that come with the new one will tell you how to set the address, but it's much the same, only has to be done within 30sec of power up.

Looks like they upgraded the panel but not the keypad when the system was upgraded. There's also the 6148 keypad that lacks the side 4 programmable buttons and lacks backlit display. I would recommend getting a 6160 alpha keypad as well for future programming and troubleshooting as well

Problem Solved

Hello All,

I got the new 6150 but could not make it work since due to worn out of the keys on the old keypad I could not get the correct keypad address.
I had 2 other keypads addressed 17 and 19 and I just guessed this one should be 18. Once I powered up the new keypad and put the address 18 there everything worked perfectly.
Thanks much for all the help.
Mike

That's the educated guess I would have made. Most of this stuff is figuring out the pattern.
