Smart smoke alarm home design
Hi,
Can anyone answer this? I’ve read many articles but still can’t seem to find an answer.
I need 4 smoke alarms/detectors for my remodeled home. I’ve installed 3 wiring between all locations so they’ll be hardwired n when 1 goes off, they all go off.
Id like to get notified of an alarm via my fone n this is where my question comes up.
Do all of them need to be smart n push notifications or does just 1 of them need this ability?
Im thinking just one does since if 1 goes off, they’ll all go off via the 3rd wire. But nothing I read will confirm that.
Pete

Yes.... on a hardwired system..... the third wire carries the alarm signal to all the other detectors.
It does not carry the low battery signal.
I'm not sure if they make a hardwired smart detector.
If they did.... I'd imagine just one would need to be remote/wireless capable.
All your detectors must be from the same group/manufacturer.

Kidde has a product line that will do something like this: https://www.thedigitalmediazone.com/...telync-bridge/

Since I've gotten similar inquires I looked into the Kidde home connect.
How does the RemoteLync Monitor work?
The device plugs into a single outlet, listens for the tone of a UL-listed smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, and uses the home’s Wi-Fi to remotely alert the homeowner via a free app downloaded to an iOS®- or Android™-compatible phone or tablet.
So there it is. There is no direct connection. It listens for the sound of triggered alarm devices.
