Concord Express keypad/code issue
I want to lead with a big THANK YOU to this forum. It was a huge help when I accidentally wiped my system a year or so ago trying to program it. With a LOT of help from various threads here, I was able to rebuild the system from scratch with complete control over everything.
The other day my keypad was blank when I woke up. I had set the alarm the night before and it was fine. Fortunately, I've had this issue before so no big right? I cut the power to the panel and removed the battery backup, waited a couple minutes, and plugged everything back in. So far so good, the system came back on no problem. However, when I went to set the date and time, the system didn't respond. I input 9 + the normal code, but instead of immediately hitting the tier 1 options, it still said "Enter Code". I tried using my normal user code and also my master code with no luck. This was on my fixed English keypad. I went to my alphanumeric / programming keypad (left it hooked up when I reprogrammed the system) and tried there with the same result. So I tried accessing the Tier 2 menus with 8 + master code, again no luck.
This morning I tried power cycling the system again and got the same result. So what happened? I always assumed that ADT has some hidden programming in there to make the system appear to be non-op to get people to come back to them, but power cycling has always worked, even when I didn't have control of the system. I'm hoping someone here has an idea how to fix it without going the extreme route of replacing the board. I can live with it not having the correct date and time, but it bugs my OCD that the system won't give a green light because the time/date are wrong and I can't fix it. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

If you reset the system to defaults, then ADT really doesn't have a way to link back into the system to alter the programming. This, sadly, sounds a lot more like the system CPU giving up the ghost. You can try connecting the keypads directly to the motherboard to eliminate the field wiring as a problem, but my gut check says it's not looking good.

When I reprogrammed the system I also installed the alphanumeric keypad for programming and left it installed permanently, so I'm 100% confident that the wiring is good on that. Brand new parts and brand new wire were used. I was afraid you were gonna say that the board might be on its way out, but I'm not shocked. I can live with the date and time being wrong, but it sucks knowing I can't make any future changes. The only upside is that I already have a factory new system ready to go that I bought back when I wasn't sure if I could reprogram the current one. I'm just not looking forward to doing that all over again...

Its possible the panel has defaulted itself. Seen this before. The default master code is 1234. Also, the default installer code could be 4321 or 6321. See if any of these will get you into tier 1 or tier 2 programming.

Nope, it's just being a finnicky brat. I (accidentally) fully defaulted my system a couple years ago and had to program it from scratch. The installer code is no longer valid, but I'll readily admit I did try it just in case. No luck.
