ademco vista20 house id and replace 5827bd

Hi,

We have to replace a 5827BD since we lost the old one. I can get the installer code, but does any know how to recover the House ID?

Also, anyone familiar with the right steps to replace a lost 5827bd with a new one?

Is there a way to 'deactivate' the lost one? From the install manual, it doesn't look like we assign zones to the handheld, just works. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

On a Vista 20p the house id is in programming location *24 (in programming press #24 to view the current setting).

That's great. Thank you. It looks like pretty easy to bind a replacement. But I don't see a way to remove the old one. Is there any way to lock out the old device should it turn up? We did NOT program the disarm code so no real risk, but since this device is not really linked to a zone, any way to say don't trust again?

Thank you!

I could be wrong, but wouldn't changed the House Id in programming accomplish this? You'd just add the new one in with a difference house id than you used before.

Yes, changing the house ID is the simple way to do this. Especially if this was your only bi-directional device. (the house ID has no effect on regular wireless transmitters)

I only have a 5804 keyfob but sounds like that is not BD, so makes sense to change the house id. Thank you.
