Question Unable to set a Keypad PGM (DSC)

Hi,

I have a PC1832 with a RFK5501, I'm trying to set the input/output pin on the keypad as a pgm, I tried everything, I went on the installation manual and still could not make it work. I already have PGM1 and PGM2 used on the PC1832 board. I don't really mind on what pgm the keypad pgm is on, it just has to not be on pgm1 or 2.

Do you guys know what steps I have to make it work?
Thank you so much

You need to go into keypad programming (*8 [installer code] 000)
Change the connection to be a PGM:
Go to programming section 077 Turn ON option 3. Press #

Select the PGM you want to follow (we'll go with 3 for this example)
Go to programming section 080. Enter 03. Press # until you exit programming..

Then program PGM 3 behavior in regular system programming.

Thanks, I have one big issue tho, Now my keypad is not responding to any buttons I press nothing, I had disabled the buzzer before doing what you said, for no real reason but now there is no buzzer, no backlight, no ready light, nothing. And I can't do anything, but the board still works as when I triggered a fire zone to test the alarm system went off but the keypad was silent, and I could not disarm it

Please help

It just says program on the keypad and nothing else

Is there a way to like force reset the keypad by holding some keys, or shorting a terminal on the keypad?

If you cant return to "normal" state by pressing # few times, You're probably programmed keypad to partition & slot 7 which is non-existand on your system.

Press and hold # then press and hold 1. It will bring keypad temporary to partition 1 so you'll be able to reprogram it to partition&slot 1 by entering: *8 [installer code] 000 0 11.

Now your keypad shold be in same state as before.
