Unemployed and looking
#1

Just wanted to say hello. I am unemployed, and looking for something to do now ..feel like I am at a crossroads since I have had two careers so to speak. Now I feel like doing something totally different, or at least more variety.
Since no one has posted here, I thought I was speak up.

Well, actually I did decide what to do when I became unemployed. I decided to take care of myself for a change, and not lose myself in my career. I had plenty of offers to go directly back to work and turned them down. I decided to lose weight, get my personal self back into gear, and did it. I lost 93 pounds by working out everyday for four hours at least five days a week. Then I landscaped my entire property by hand (I am a woman too), and designed it, and then planted it, laid sod...gorgeous...very proud moments and goals.
Then I started my own company and began internet sales. Succeeded again.
Now, i sit here alone and wonder what is the rest of the world doing out there. I am thin, have a great backyard, and some email buddies.
No real world contact at all basically.

Community involvement is a great way to make friends and feel involved and rewarded. Join your local Rotary or Chamber of Commerce in order to make contacts for your business. Get involved in a local church, domestic violence council, Big Sisters, food bank, shelter, Red Cross, or other community service organization. Identify your gifts and put them to work in your community. If gardening is a gift, then your local beautification committee would appreciate your gifts. Community service is very rewarding and there are very many organizations that need help.
