payment solution

I just recently starting collaborating with an online company and I'm working from home. They've asked me to choose a payment method and I'm looking for suggestions. So far I've come up with moneybookers and ikobo that would work for Eastern Europe (where I live). Can you tell me of some other services, or something about these two? Thanks!
If I was unclear please feel free to ask me for more details.

Payment solution

www.moneybookers.com and www.ikobo.com will provide you with information about these payment solutions. Check out popular websites in your area and the payment solutions they use. Paypal is ebay's payment solution, yet an internet search reveals consumers have had their share of problems with Paypal.

Well, thanks, I knew that already
I was looking to hear something from people who have used them and have a more hands-on experience which may be different from what's being advertised on the websites of these companies.
Anyway, I agree about paypal, it's true they have quite a lot of "bad press" related to them, enough to keep a lot of people away.

Well, for starters paypal have a very low coverage and Eastern Europe is not listed in their coverage list. As you noticed you can choose only between Moneybookers and iKobo. I live in Romania and I can tell you that I am using iKobo. They are fast and cheap. They delivered what they promised. To sum up, they send you a free visa international debit card which may be use both for online and offline purchases. You can use it at any Visa Plus ATM to withdraw your money received in your iKobo account.

I see. Thank you for your information; this is what I wanted to know: actual user experiences. Well, since you're saying they are a good service I think I may sign-up as well. What is the deal with this Visa card? How much does it cost? Is everybody eligible to get one? I ask this because I don't as of yet have a bank account and maybe this is requirement to get the card or something.

Well, what can I tell you is that when someone sends you money iKobo sends you automatically a Visa international debit card which can be used to withdraw money from your iKobo account and also for offline and online purchases. The card is send free of charge if you live in Europe I think. Anyway its price is very low so you don't have to worry about that. The thing is that the speed of money transfers are very fast: less than 10 seconds. You don;t have to own a bank account in order to work with ikobo. This is another great thing about them.

I see, well that is good indeed. Check it out myself and you're right, delivery of the ikard in my country is free of charge; that is if I don't want it to be delivered express then I'll have to pay something extra but also get it a lot faster. Well, I'm in no hurry so I guess I will wait. I signed up with them and now I'm waiting for my first payment. Shouldn't take to long so I guess I'll be able to tell you more once this happens. BTW, how long does it take to arrive? The ikard I mean.

The iKard usually arrives in maximum 8 working days. It really depends on your geographical location. Have you received your PIN already ?

I see, thanks for the information. Well, so far it's only been 3 days since I got paid and received the email about my card and also my PIN (so I suppose this answers your question). Once I have it, what exactly are the fees I'll have to pay in order to withdraw my money? Are there any fees, other than the $1.5 ikobo says to take on a withdrawal?

As a matter of fact, 1.5$ is the only fee you have to pay when withdrawing money. Also this fee does not depend on the sum of money you withdraw from the ATM.

OK, I see. So far this ikobo sounds very good. We'll have to see whether it will be so once I actually start using it. Thanks for all your answers so far, I'm sure I'll have more questions once the card arrives and I can do some real business.

I've just received my ikard today. A delivery man gave it to me personally at my door. After this I went to an ATM nearby and was able to get my money without any kind of problems. You were right, there isn't a large fee involved, actually I didn't even notice it.
In case I want to sent money with ikobo, how would I go about doing that? Thanks.

Well it's pretty simple. Add a credit or debit card to your account and after that verify it. Add a recipient to your account and send the recipient money using the send money tab.

Thanks, it's good to know. Have you actually done that? Send money I mean.
Anyway, I've read somewhere that ikobo has solved their MasterCard problems. Were there problems with ikobo and MC? I guess so. Is is true then? Did they work their problems out?

Ikobo is gaining popularity and the fact that they resolved their problems with MC and also customer support have to say something to us, customers. I am betting on them for my future money transfer actions. What do you think ?

Noticed that too. Especially the part about customer support. They really seem to try their best now to answer e-mails and question on livechat. Also they are more polite. I think ikobo has learned it's lesson is beginning to improve in every aspect of their service. Good for them and more importantly good for us already using their services.
