Isn't it ironic?

Two years ago, I posted a resume on monster.com. I finally got two calls about it in the past month or so, after I already got a job a few months after I posted it from a friend who runs a small business (less than 10 employees). Where were these guys when I needed work? Kinda ironic isn't it

That always seems to happen. It took me 3 months to fill a job with the only qualified candidate who applied. The week he started I received resumes for three more good candidates. It's all about the timing!

My wife left the IT field about 6 years ago. She was at the top of her game but just got bored with it (and the old boys club) and decided to pursue her Chartered Accountant designation. She still gets calls from IT headhunters who have dug up her old resumes off monster and workopolis. In our field a five year old resume is nearly worthless yet when the market is hot the calls start coming in.
