looking for residential electrical career, where and how do i break into industry

hey all, over the past few years i have learned a lot about residential electric in the way of wiring a house and find it to be rather interesting, i taught myself from diy books and other various resources, two years ago i had a co. install new meter sockets and breaker boxes for my two unit home, everything i did was good according to the co. i really think that i could enjoy a career in this but i dont have a clue how to market myself to a co. that could provide me with more thorough training, specifically in the meter socket and power pole installation, any one have any experience with this? i have seen ads for classes in my town (grand rapids mich.) but they seem to be rather pricey compared to local college costs for similar training/classes. obviously the college compared to the training programs divide the discipline into rather small categories whats better college courses or the paid training courses? thanks again to all who spend their time with this.

Not sure of your age, but why not contact your local union about apprenticeships. You get to learn while you earn. Good luck.
