Unfortunately I don’t have a degree or similar qualifications. Only graduates get the best jobs.

On some occasions I get very embarrassed when filling in employment application forms. Do employers check a person's educational background?

Cool

Yes, many do check job applicant backgrounds, including their education, former employers, credit history, etc., especially in this computer age. It is a good idea to be completely factual, but emphasize your strengths (experience), what you have contributed "above-and-beyond" on former jobs, and precisely what YOU can offer that particular employer. THAT'S what they are looking for. Job experience and on-the-job training (aka OJT) are an "education", too. Good employers know that. Good Luck!
