I'm ready to go to work!
I applied for a job four weeks ago,had an interview that went well and I haven't heard anything.I sent an E-mail the day after the interview thanking them for there time.
Would it be appropriate for me to call or E-mail to find out the status of the position?
Thank you

Well...I was called 2 months after an interview once...guess it would depend on the type of company.
I'd like to comment that you should have sent a hand written note...it sticks in their mind much better. Even in this day and age, the personal touch can help. Electronic means can be quickly scanned and discarded and never really make an impact.

How was it left? If they said they would call you, it can be a mark against you if you call them. If not, give it a shot - just don't harrass them by calling every day.

They said they thought they would be done with interviews in a couple of weeks and they would let me know either way?...Maybe they are knocking down a few walls to make my new office bigger!(lol)

Since it wasn't going to be decided right away..the hand written note would have been better. Those deciding would have remembered your name. If your handwriting is as bad as mine, having someone write it for you would be ok.
Just what I've learned from more than one source...even in a tech company..the personal touch for things like this can add points. Regular communication like appointments or information, email is fine..but expressing appreciation needs to be a bit more personal.

I don't know how making a call to find out the status could hurt. I think it would show that you are still interested in the job. On a different note, when I quote a job for a homeowner I always call them back in a week or so if I havent heard from them. Its often that phone call that gets me the job.
