Question Underground electrical

I am new here, so if I am in the wrong area, please let me know. I am getting a modular home built and am trying to find out how to go about the electrical. I have someone who will dig the trench for me and then we can lay down the electrical wire to be hooked up to the pole. Doing it this way will save me about $4000. I haven't talked with my electrician yet, but what type of cable is needed underground and how much does it run? The land is mostly all sand, so it should be easy to put down. Thanks.

Local electrical codes will determine what is acceptable and your electrician should know them. You might also be told that you have to lay a metal cable next the conduit so the line can be located above ground in future. You may also want to lay another conduit for telephone and cable TV in this trench.
