Anybody experiencing small floating particles in their solar heating systems? Color is off white, looks like there might be a hint of green (copper oxide?). I don't know if these particles are comimg from a degrading set of solar panels, little green animals or what. These particles readily clog the built in filters of our condo washing machines, hot water only, of course.

Sounds like calcium from hard water.

You may also find these particles at the bottom of your hot water storage tank and water heaters. To help your equipment last longer, flush out the tanks every 6 monthes or so.

What Stripping Replacement Is Easiest, But Efficient?

I have to replace the weather stripping for a one car garage. I know I can get it in the brown color my townhome is. I also feel I better replace the weather stripping on the garage door bottom. I want to do this myself. I have until June 15th to do it. What type of garage door weather stripping is recommended for a reasonably simple replacement job. I have never done this and cannot afford to hire someone to do this. What is your recommendations?

Winter's around the corner. With an expected price rise in oil, I'm seeking good insulating 'non-itchy' stuff to tuck up between the floor joists. MA temps go to single digits, but rarely below zero. Ideas? Thanks ahead of time
