patio door weatherstripping

I recentlt put a pet door in the sliding glass patio door. I weatherstriped around it pretty good. The problem I am having is there is a 3/4 inch gap between the fixed window and the slider. When the door is fully closed the two windows seal off the hot air. But of course I can't close the door because of the pet door. Can anyone suggest a product to keep the hot air out. I live in Palm Springs and it gets pretty hot.
Thanks

Check with the manufacturer of the pet door. I am certain they are aware of this problem and have come up with a viable solution.

The pet door was given to me. I looked for a stamp of some kind that would tell me who the manufactor is but could not find anything. Any suggestions on after market products from companies like 3m?
