window condensation
What is occuring when condensation collects on the inside of windows as it gets colder outside, and what can be done to prevent it?

The condensation occurs when warm, moist air meets a cold surface.
Your humidity could be too high in the house.
The other reason is that you windows (the glass) is cold.
It could be a combination, so find out what the humidity is - should be below 40% in the winter. If it is the windows, you may have to improve them with storms of some sort.
Ofter, you cannot eliminate (and don't want to) all concdensation. You just want to make sure you do not have it running down to the sill and rot the window.
