digital honeywell thermostat

digital honeywell thermostat

My dad had a digital honeywell thermostat. He was wondering if there was a way he caould program or re wire it so that the fan is constanly running and the A/C as well?

All stats have a fan ON setting...but it normally runs the blower at full speed...I think the A/C uses a lower speed? It will still cycle the A/C on and off in the ON position as long as you have it set to cool...but it won't efficiently cool or remove humidity as well.

At least I think I'm right.

Where would he find the fan on setting? He does not know much about them. Im trying to find all that i can for him

The cheaper ones have a switch, others have a button that you can change the setting on the screen from AUTO to ON.

If you can give a model number we might get more specific directions.

btw...I was mistaken...I checked my own unit and the speed in the ON position and AUTO in A/C mode are the same. Heat mode uses the slower speed I guess.

I dont know the model. I dont think he does either. My mom just bought one and said put it in lol. But all the information is helpful and i greatly appreciate all of it! Thank you

I would assume most all brands (especially newer ones) would have the option of running the fan and the AC on at the same time? Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I always thought.

There are thermos for heat only, for heat and air conditioning, gas furnaces. heat pumps, etc.

Who knows if mom bought the right model?

The model info should be on the instruction sheet as well as on the stat.
