Remove Exterior Caulking

The caulking on the outside of my house is in very poor shape. It's dried hard and has many leaks. I want to remove the caulk and reapply.

How do I remove the old caulk? Scrapping with a putty knife isn't going to work. The caulk is as hard as a rock.

Bill

Unfortunately, you need to do a bit of chiseling. Red Devil makes an interesting tool that can help, cuts into a corner, but scraping is the order of the day.
If you are brave the rotary pin paint removers with floating pins that go on a drill can be used, but safety goggles are a must, and the coarse units can crack glass if you are not steady. As the caulk seems to be around the entire frame structure, that shouldn't be much of a problem.

Good Luck - and don't rush it. You'll get the knack after a while.
