Best way to insulate wooden exterior door not being used..

We have a nice wood front door that does not get used during the winter... There is a glass door too. Well it's quite cold over by that door and thought about putting some insulation between the glass and wood door.. Any advice on what type to use. Could be the foam boards ? If it's not a perfect fit do I fail at it..?

Good weather stripping around the edges would be the best thing. But putting batt type insinuation between the two doors would not do any harm and will help.

As long as it's not being used, I'd also put window plastic around it on the inside. I'm sure there are other brands but I've always used the 3M product.
