Double-pane window lost its seal

I have a double-pane window that has moisture and dirt between the panes. Is there any way to repair the window or must it be replaced?

Replacement is the only cure. Call a glass shop and have them come measure the IG unit. It'll take them a week or so to get a new one. Installation will take about an hour.

Remove Exterior Caulking

The caulking on the outside of my house is in very poor shape. It's dried hard and has many leaks. I want to remove the caulk and reapply. How do I remove the old caulk? Scrapping with a putty knife isn't going to work. The caulk is as hard as a rock. Bill [Edited by gfd098 on 03-18-01 at 06:49]

new windows

I'm installing new windows into existing rough openings. I have gaps between the new windows and the existing openings, 1/4" to 3/4". What would be the best thermal seal? Foam? Thanks.
