"scrap" vinyl siding

Okay, here's the deal.
I am building a playhouse for my daughter...on a budget.
I want to put vinyl siding on it.
A friend of my family is having his old aluminum siding replaced and said I could have whatever I wanted. Well, I went to take a look at it and it was bent and nasty and pretty much unusable.
However, the company installing the new insulated Vinyl siding said I could use the scrap that they have left over from the house, which they would just throw away anyway. It will probably be in smaller pieces, like 3ft long pieces.
The playhouse is 8x6x6, with a 2ft rise for the roof
The company said I could overlap this vinyl siding and it should look fine. It is VERY nice siding, brand new.
Does this sound like it would work or has anyone had anyexperience with this? Let me know what you think!

You can't beat the price and it will look fine.

When you install it, put the rearmost piece on first, then work toward the front (or toward the most visible "face"). This minimizes the visibility of the seam.
