Crabgrass amidst Iris
Hello!
I have several iris plants on my property, and my wife & I have been landscaping around these with river rock. It's looking pretty good & coming along nicely(the landscaping project that is) However, I'd like to eliminate the crabgrass thats in the irises. Would Preen work? I've never used Preen. I'm just at a loss what my options would or could be on this. Any help/suggestions?

I never heard of Preen, let alone used it, so I can't comment on that
What I do in situations where I want to kill something in close proximity to something I want to keep is pull the offending plant if I can or put Roundup in a cup and paint the offending plant's leaves with a paint brush to kill it without being worried about getting it on the plant(s) I want to keep if there's too much to pull

I think Preen is a pre-emergent herbicide so I don't think it would work on already established weeds. I don't know of any offhand but you can do a search for a herbicide specific to your crabgrass that hopefully will not harm the iris. If it's a smallish area I would just use old fashioned elbow grease and pull dig up the weeds.
