Strong vinegar (not the grocery stuff) works for spot treatment...corn gluten works for some if applied correctly..but read this...http://www.puyallup.wsu.edu/~linda%2...n%20gluten.pdf

Thank you. That means I have to stick with the chemical bomb.

I use grocery store vinegar quite a bit so I don't have to worry about the daughter or the dog being on the lawn or even right there with me. Sometimes takes two applications to really be effective, though.

Scotts EcoSense seems not available in the US.
I will try it with vinegar. What kind of vinegar do you apply, how often and how much?

Are you spot treating for your lawn?

I use this. It kills the spot I spray but the grass grows back around it. Comes in small spray bottle. This works....

EcoSmart 64 oz. Ready-to-Use Organic Weed and Grass Killer-33122 at The Home Depot

If for the whole lawn I use corn gluten for weed control in the spring.

Using vinegar is a good idea. It is highly effective because it works overnight. You can make ecofriendly weed killer by using 2 cups of vinegar, 1/2 cup of salt and 1/2 cup of dish washing liquid. Pour these into plastic spray bottle mix well by shaking for at least one minute.
